![]() With years of updates and improvements, the Adobe filter gallery and Neural Filters give you. I have seen a huge amount of productivity gains (mostly in the CPU and memory overhead. Price: 69.99 / £69.99 Web: Serious Photoshop alternative Many new features in Version 2 Powerful layers, masking and retouching HDR merge, panoramas, focus stacking Adjustment layers and Live Filters Keep in mind that Affinity Photo is an all-round design tool, not just a photo editor. But can Affinity Photos do everything Photoshop can. ![]() All without a drawing tablet We are putting three different Affinity Photo tutorials into one, so let's get started. Step 2 - Locate the Layer Effects Panel The Layer Effects panel can be accessed two ways. Affinity Photo may not have any dedicated artist effect filters, but it has more than enough amazing built-in tools that let you turn a photo into a painting or drawing. For example, if the shape has a border created with the Shape tool in Photoshop, that shape will likely be rasterized in Affinity Photo. Amongst the list of filters on show you’ll find powerful sharpening tools a range of blur tools for crafting all manner of depth-of-field effects and a haze-removal tool that manages to out-perform the similar feature in Photoshop. Affinity Photo is a fantastic alternative to PhotoShop, with intuitive controls and the vast majority of features I regularly use in PS. While Affinity Photo’s list of filters can’t compare with the number on offer in Photoshop, there are thankfully more of the latter than the former. There are two types of filter – those that let you add effects, like turning your photo into a sketch, and those that have more practical uses, such as sharpening and blur. Love them or hate them, photo-editing filters are one way to give photographs a specific look, or simply apply a fun effect. Live Filters include blur, sharpen, distortion, noise and edge filters for more creative photo editing.
